Cancer. For the second time. At the age of 43. The first time (age 36) I had endometrial cancer, and the fix was “easy” – they found it early, removed it surgically, and it was gone. This time I have non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma (follicular) that is causing some problems. Chemotherapy is supposed to fix the problems (though it does not “cure” the cancer). My chemotherapy starts on March 29, and I have decided that what I want out of each day is a moment – even the smallest of moments – where life just feels right. Whether it is a moment with my husband, a friend, my cat, or a great book, or some awesome adventure that has not yet crossed my mind, my priority for each day is to embrace and cherish that moment. That is the moment where I am living in my light.
